FAQ

ShuttleRank tracks badminton doubles sessions, matches and ratings. Here are the things people ask most.

How do I start a session?

Go to Sessions, then tap + New Session. Pick a venue and a date.

A session is one visit to the court - everything you play that day gets grouped under it.

How do I invite people?

Open the session and share the join link. Anyone who taps it can add themselves to the session - they do not need a ShuttleRank account first.

Paste the link in your group chat and you are ready to play.

How do I record a match?

Open the session and tap Play.

Pick the four players, tap the winning pair and save the result. That's the whole loop - it is designed to be done courtside between games.

What is SRR?

ShuttleRank Rating (SRR) is a single number summarising how you are playing.

Beat stronger opponents and your rating climbs faster. Lose to weaker opponents and it drops further.

Your SRR updates after every recorded match, so it reflects recent form rather than simply counting your lifetime wins and losses.

Why did my rating move after someone else's match?

It doesn't.

Your SRR only changes from matches you played in. Your position on the leaderboard can change, though, because other players are still playing.

Can I fix a match I entered incorrectly?

Yes.

Open the session, find the incorrect match and delete it. Ratings for everyone involved are recalculated automatically.

Can I remove or correct a player entry?

If there are duplicate player entries, or matches have been recorded under the wrong player, contact us and we can review the records and merge or correct them where appropriate.

If you are an unregistered player who has been added to ShuttleRank by someone else and you do not want your information displayed, contact us.

Who is my nemesis and best partner?

Your Profile works these out from your match history.

Nemesis is the opponent you lose to most. Best partner is the player you win most alongside.

Both need a reasonable number of matches before they become meaningful, so treat them as fun statistics rather than definitive measures.

How do I share my stats?

Go to Profile and tap the share icon in the top-right.

ShuttleRank generates a share card designed for WhatsApp and other messaging apps.

Who can see my profile and results?

Your ShuttleRank name, results, rating and statistics may be visible to other ShuttleRank users because the app is built around shared leaderboards and player statistics.

Your email address is not displayed to other users.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Email prasanthys47@gmail.com and ask us to delete your account and associated personal data.

Because match results can form part of other players' history, some information may need to remain in anonymised form so that other players' records remain accurate.

Is ShuttleRank an official badminton ranking system?

No.

SRR, leaderboards and statistics are ShuttleRank's own recreational tracking system. They are not an official badminton ranking or governing-body ranking.

Something else is wrong?

If you find an incorrect player, match, rating or other problem, contact us at prasanthys47@gmail.com with enough information for us to identify the issue.
